Great review but you miss one of the more important feature, the price: Samyang 1.200 / Tamron 1.900 both on B&H . With equal performances the price should make the difference.

My predictions for the S1H mkII / S2H: Pro Res 4444 internal. 4K 120P no crop. At least 15 true stops of dynamic range - not marketing hype like Sony does, but actual true 15 stops of DR at least. A stacked BSI sensor offering massively improved rolling shutter, as that's a weakness on the current S1H, as well as improved low light. Improved colour science. Improved battery performance. Massively improved 240 FPS slo-mo with audio recording. 32-bit float internal audio recording. SDI ports as opposed to HDMI. (EDIT) Forgot to mention internal ND up to 10 stops. And then of course the usual PDAF, at least 7.5 stops of IBIS, 6.2k open gate and all of the other features that are now standard in the S5II & X and the GH7. And maybe Arri Log C3 in the S2H? Maybe. Price tag of around $5,000. Feel free to add anything I may have missed out 😎

I got a chance to use an xa11 tonight where guest speakers were the only thing to record. I recorded directly from a main out, the channels inputs were summed with a xlr patch so both Chanel’s got the same mono feed but individual channel volumes could be adjusted separately, but with mono, just kept them the same. Nice camera.

Blackmagic Resolve's boycott of ProRes RAW is so myopic. Everyone knows BRAW is proprietary BS and for that reason alone will never make it as an industry standard. The fact that Apple is not married to any one camera brand is why ProRes won the format war.

Looks to be a great camera.. the Camera I was hoping the C300 III would have been. The only gripe I have is with the way the battery mounts on the rear.. sticking straight into the person handholding /cradling the camera.. sigh.

Maybe Nikon can finally shake up the industry and stop this idiotic patent lawsuits over codecs that were invalid anyways. Nikons Z9 and the lawsuit over the Raw compression was the nail on the coffin for Red. Red uses Forza sensors as red does not make their sensors they outsource them.

Lightweight and small should not be a checkmark for an FS5 II. You can hold any camera that has that same image quality as an FS5 up high and down low, like a C200 for example.

Would the C300 MKII be a good goto camera in 2024 for talking head interviews, long events, or wedding ceremonies and receptions?!

Has anybody actually measured the dynamic range of those "32-bit" audio inputs? Just a simple floor test with a 150-ohm terminated XLR plug would tell us a lot (I have several, but I don't yet have a GH7). 32-bit doesn't really achieve anything if it isn't coupled with extremely low-noise, multi-stage preamps and A2Ds. I've owned or used plenty of "32-bit" devices, and IMO the only ones that really provide added practical range are the Sound Devices MixPre II and (recently) 8-series.

Their Gnosis lenses were the best, goregus image out of those.

The Burano has terrible dynamic range, less or the same as the A1 (13stops) they claim 16 also, this is according to @geraldundone. So just wanted to point that out and definitely hope this camera has better DR and they don’t lie like Sony does

The warm color shift actually helps rendering the skin tones nicer. I always found the blue cast distracting with the Vespids, glad they fixed it!

Something to look at @ 5:04. Think twice about V Log L @ 6400. GH5S has a strange dryness to it. Colors looks virulent here. Is it manageable ? Maybe.
